What does forgiving everyone before going to sleep mean?

I've been doing this for years. I've been told that it's not a good idea, but I didn't listen. I'm well aware of the fact that forgiveness is meant to be done in your heart and not by saying it out loud, but I just can't do it silently...

I'm going to sleep now so forgive everyone before you fall asleep tonight…

You might be thinking why I'm doing this. The answer is simple... If there is something you need to forgive someone for, say it before you sleep and let the universe do the rest for you...

Forgive everyone no matter who they are – your parents, siblings, relatives, friends, or even enemies. It doesn't matter if they did something bad or if they hurt you physically or mentally.

Forgive them all. Don't wait until tomorrow because you might forget or die during your sleep. Forgetting might be easier but dying won't ever forgive them because you will never wake up again… so say it before sleeping:

What are the benefits of forgiving everyone before going to sleep?

Forgiving people means letting go of our anger toward them. It is a spiritual act of love that lets go of our attachment to the pain they may have caused us.

Forgiveness is not easy, it's something we learn to practice. It's an active process, although sometimes we feel like we're just going along for the ride and doing it automatically.

When we start practicing forgiveness, it feels like a sacrifice, but then we realize that the only thing we were sacrificing was our own suffering and feelings of resentment and anger. When we practice forgiveness regularly, it becomes a habit and eventually will be something that comes naturally to us.

The most well-known benefit is feeling lighter and less burdened by negative emotions such as resentment or anger. This alone can make us happier in life and improve relationships because we will feel more peaceful and be more approachable.

Other benefits include healing past wounds so they can no longer affect us, improved self-esteem because you feel like you have overcome your challenges, increased energy level by releasing old pent-up emotions, reduce stress & blood pressure levels, increase optimism, joy, peace, and happiness.

How can I make it a habit of sleeping with a clean heart?

I have been struggling to make it a habit to sleep with a clean heart. I don't mean a clean bed... I mean a clean heart.

Trying to fall asleep at night, my mind won't stop working on the day's events, and I'm unable to turn off my thoughts. It is as though I'm fighting an uphill battle during the day, only to have that battle continue into my "private" time at home after work.

I've tried several techniques to get my mind and body to relax, but nothing seems to help. If I take a hot bath before bedtime, I just end up tossing and turning in the bed because I feel uncomfortable in the wet sheets or pajamas.

I've tried listening to relaxation CDs or taking deep breaths, but this doesn't seem to make any difference either. I won't sleep (because lack of sleep affects every aspect of my life), but more than that, I want peace of mind. How can I make it a habit of sleeping with a clean heart?

Conclusion

I sincerely hope that you will find these tips useful for forgiving others, allowing your heart to become clean, and getting a good night’s sleep. Remember to forgive others so that you may forgive yourself; forgiveness is the key to happiness.
